Thomas P. Aicher has been practicing exclusively on litigation matters with Mr. Cleary’s firms in Rutland, Vermont since he was admitted to practice in 1991 in all Vermont State and Federal Courts. He is regularly involved with the defense of Vermont ski and summer resorts in connection with skiing and snowboarding injury claims, as well as other personal injury suits against resort landowners and adventure business operators. Representative cases have included deaths and catastrophic injuries involving head and spinal cord injuries.
He has handled claims resulting from accidents involving skiing and snowboarding, snowmobiling, ATV, golf, golf carts, tennis, horseback and other recreation and sport injury accidents. He also has handled helmet claims for sports injury participants. He acts as advisor to the Vermont Outdoor Guide Association and he frequently presents to the National Ski Area's Association membership on ski and summer resort liability issues, risk management topics and outdoor adventure litigation trends.
He has handled several products liability claims for manufacturers and other defendants in consumer products, recreational sports products, automobile, industrial and forestry product failures claims. Mr. Aicher handles a growing caseload of employment discrimination and wrongful termination claims for Vermont employers as well as legal malpractice defense for Vermont attorneys.
Mr. Aicher also retains a general insurance and corporate client defense practice representing Vermont clients in personal injury, property loss, insurance coverage, and employment claims. These have include all types of personal injury claims from routine slip and falls to catastrophic poison, mold exposure, or other premises liability. He handles general premises liability claims for landowners of all sizes including large landlord property owners and retail and convenience business operators.
Mr. Aicher carries the AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale Hubbell Peer Review Ratings program. He is Past President of the Association of Ski Defense Attorneys. He is also Vermont youth skiing and ski racing and is past President of the Vermont Alpine Racing Association.
Mr. Aicher lives in Clarendon, Vermont with his wife Kelly and their son Jack. They enjoy Vermont’s outdoor offerings including skiing and snowboarding, lake sports, horses and bicycling.
