Hal Armstrong graduated from the University of Utah in 1999 with a B.A. in communication (public relations) and a minor in Spanish. Hal obtained his juris doctorate from Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School in 2003. After graduating from law school, Hal clerked for the Second Judicial District Court in Ogden, Utah, until 2005, when he entered private practice with a boutique litigation firm in Salt Lake City that specialized in municipal defense litigation and professional licensing issues. Hal handles a wide variety of commercial litigation issues for the firm. In addition to his professional education, Hal speaks Spanish and completed the basic Russian linguist course at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California, as well as the U.S. Army Intelligence Interrogator School in 1993. Hal presently serves on the Utah Bar Journal Committee as a copy editor.
