Jim Best is an active trial lawyer with the firm.  Over his thirty-five years of practice, Jim has tried to verdict numerous multi-party and complex cases, including five fatality cases and four serious brain damage, amputation and quadriplegic cases in recent years.  Jim is also coverage counsel for a number of the firm’s clients.

Jim has been honored as a Super Lawyer and Leading Lawyer in Illinois from the inception of these honors until the present time.  Jim has contributed articles and spoken before numerous groups, including the Chicago Bar Association, DuPage Bar Association, Kane County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Illinois Defense Counsel, Chicago Claims Manager Association and Executive Enterprises, as well as with many of his clients. Jim also served three terms as the Chairman of the Civil Practice Committee, headed a committee to revise the local rules and served on the Judiciary committee of his local bar.

Jim received his Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctorate degree from Drake University.  He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Illinois Defense Counsel, Defense Research Institute, United States District Court Trial Bar, the United Stated Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.  Jim is also a certified arbitration chairman.
