Burr, Jeffrey L.

Mary Ann has practiced law in New Mexico for over 24 years, in the private, public and non-profit sectors. She joined Atkinson & Kelsey, P.A. in June 2011 – the first and largest firm in New Mexico dedicated exclusively to divorce and family law matters. Mary Ann is trained in Collaborative Law and is a member of the International, New Mexico, and Albuquerque collaborative practice groups. She serves as a Mediator and Settlement Facilitator, as well as represents clients in traditional litigation.

With her Masters in Gerontology, she enjoys working with clients going through divorce "in the golden years" and helping grandparents raising grandchildren.

Prior to her current position, she was the Deputy Litigation Director, Private Attorney Involvement Coordinator, and Managing Attorney (Las Vegas office) of New Mexico Legal Aid. Before that, she served as the Managing Attorney of the Lawyer Referral for the Elderly Program (LREP) and the Director of the Public & Legal Services Department of the State Bar of New Mexico, during which time she earned her M.A. in Gerontology. From 1997-2005, she had her own firm, Baker-Randall & Associates, which served family law clients throughout the state.

Mary Ann earned a Dual B.A. at Rice University in 1984; her J.D. at Washington & Lee University School of Law in 1987; and a M.A. in Gerontology at Webster University in 2007. She serves on the Boards of the State Bar of New Mexico's Family Law Section and Elder Law Section, regularly speaks at CLEs and professional trainings, and served as an Adjunct Professor at UNM Law School in spring 2012.
