Scott Corrigan is a partner and co-chair of Wiggin and Dana's White-Collar Defense, Investigations and Corporate Compliance Practice Group and he serves as a member of the firm's executive committee. He represents clients in criminal and civil investigations by federal and state government agencies, conducts corporate internal investigations and counsels clients on corporate compliance issues. Mr. Corrigan also represents clients in complex civil litigation, including actions involving accountant malpractice and securities fraud.
Before private practice, Mr. Corrigan served as counsel in the enforcement division at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York from 1996-2000. At the New York Fed, he served as lead attorney in various enforcement actions against banks and bankers related to, among other things, foreign exchange trading and money laundering. While at the New York Fed, he was appointed Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York in connection with an international money laundering prosecution.
Mr. Corrigan began his legal career as a prosecutor in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, where he tried fifteen cases to verdict and served as lead counsel in hundreds of prosecutions.
In May 2008, Mr. Corrigan and his former colleague David Fein served as lead trial counsel for a CVS executive who faced 23 felony counts related to an alleged scheme to bribe a Rhode Island state senator. The federal criminal case was prosecuted by the Department of Justice's Public Integrity Division and the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Rhode Island. After a month-long trial in federal court in Rhode Island, the jury acquitted their client on all counts.
He received his B.A. magna cum laude from Providence College and graduated from Yale Law School.
Mr. Corrigan serves on the council of the Village Community School in New York, New York.
