Dave Porter practices principally in the areas of corporate governance, disclosure, and corporate finance. He has been recognized for his client service (2007 BTI Client Service Team All-Stars), for his technical skills (2005-2007 Chamber's USA "Leading Lawyers for Business" — Ohio/Corporate/M&A), and as one of Ohio's leading lawyers (Ohio Super Lawyers). Numerous public companies, in diverse industries, call on him for corporate governance and securities disclosure advice.

Dave currently serves as chair of the Corporation Law Committee of the Ohio State Bar Association and has been a leader for numerous legislative enhancements to Ohio's corporate statutes. He is a member of the ABA (Business Law Section), the Ohio State Bar Association (Corporation Law Section), and the Cleveland Bar Association (Securities Law Section, of which he is a former chair). He has served as an adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University's School of Law teaching advanced securities regulation.

Dave serves as a trustee of the Cleveland Bar Foundation, Reaching Heights Foundation, and Great Lakes Theater Festival (past president).

Dave regularly teaches a nationally offered seminar on MD&A for Executive Enterprises Institute and also writes and lectures on other securities, corporate governance, and corporate structuring subjects.
