Candice Deyerle, an associate attorney at Short-Carter-Morris, LLP, lived in Austin, Texas until moving to College Station to attend Texas A&M University. After graduating magna cum laude from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minor in Business, she moved to Houston to study law at the University of Houston Law Center.
During law school, Candice served as an intern for Governor Rick Perry’s General Counsel and Federal Magistrate Judge, Frances Stacy. She was also an editor of the Houston Journal of International Law.
Candice became interested in family law when she worked at the University of Houston Legal Aid Clinic during law school. As a law student, she began representing clients in divorce, custody, probate, and guardianship matters. This first-hand experience led her to be hired as a law clerk at Short-Carter-Morris, LLP during her third year of law school.
After being admitted to the State Bar of Texas in November 2010, Short-Carter-Morris, LLP hired her full time as an associate. In addition to practicing family law, Candice has completed her mediation training through the A.A. White Dispute Resolution Center and is a certified mediator.
