Hammar, Timothy

Clayton D. Halunen is the founder of Halunen & Associates, a national employment and consumer protection law firm with offices in Minneapolis and Chicago. Clayton earned his J.D. in 1991 from Hamline University School of Law. He has been selected as a "Super Lawyer" every year since 2003 - a distinction awarded to the top 5% of practitioners in the state.

In 2012 he represented one of the relaters in a $1.5 billion settlement against Abbot Labs for off-label sales in violation of the False Claims Act - one of the largest awards in U.S. history. Clayton also has the distinction of obtaining one of the largest verdicts in Minnesota history in a single-plaintiff employment case. He has served in leadership positions in a number of prominent nationwide class actions and has had one of his cases cited by the U.S. Supreme Court regarding the standard for constructive discharge.

Clayton represents plaintiffs exclusively in cases involving employment law, mass torts, class action litigation and qui tam actions. Since founding the firm in 1998 Clayton has developed a nationwide practice in the areas of consumer class action and qui tam litigation. On a national level, Clayton has lectured around the country and gained recognition for his work in the areas of defective products, food, drug, and supplement mislabeling, and consumer fraud class action litigation.
