Erik Swanholt has substantial experience in a broad range of litigation matters, with an emphasis on product liability cases, pharmaceutical defects, complex commercial litigation, and toxic torts. He has defended product liability and toxic tort claims in a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, industrial safety equipment, metals, asbestos, and silica. His broad experience in complex commercial litigation matters includes unfair competition, deceptive trade practices, and antitrust claims under state and federal consumer protection statutes involving health care, food and beverage, and other consumer products. Erik also has handled numerous construction matters for pharmaceutical manufacturers and local governments. In addition, he is a member of Jones Day's e-discovery team, resident e-discovery lead in the Los Angeles Office, and a member of the Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production.

Representative clients in recent public matters include Abbott Laboratories, Aleris International, Dole, Genentech, Greystone Servicing, North Safety Products, PepsiCo, TAP Pharmaceuticals, TECT Aerospace, Textron, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, and Yamaha.

Erik is a member of the State Bar of California. He serves as co-chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers and is a volunteer and frequent pro bono lawyer for Bet Tzedek and Public Counsel. Erik has received the California State Bar's Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Services every year from 2005 to 2009. He has been named a "Super Lawyer Rising Star" by Law & Politics and the publishers of Los Angeles magazine multiple times since 2007, including 2010.
