Greg Teran is a partner in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department, as well as a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. He joined the firm in 2000.
Practice
Mr. Teran's practice focuses on intellectual property litigation. For over ten years he has represented many different clients, from billion-dollar companies to small start-ups and individuals, in patent, trade secret, copyright and trademark cases in federal and state courts, as well as the International Trade Commission. His cases have involved a wide variety of different technologies, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, semiconductor processing, integrated circuit design, software, computer networking and communications, smart-phone design, graphical user interfaces and signal power detectors.
In 2008, Mr. Teran represented six Bosnians detained in Guantanamo Bay in the first-ever habeas corpus proceeding involving Guantanamo detainees. The U.S. District Court ruled that five of WilmerHale's six clients had been unlawfully detained and ordered their release.
In 2004-2005, Mr. Teran served as a special assistant district attorney for Middlesex County, and prosecuted criminal cases on behalf of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He tried 13 criminal cases to judgment.
