Lance received his Juris Doctorate with honors from the University of Florida in 1990. He is a member of The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, The Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys, The Florida Bar, The Lee County Bar Association, and The Florida State Guardianship Association. Lance is admitted to practice in all courts of the State of Florida and the Federal Court of the Middle District of Floriday. In June 2005 Lance was certified as an Elder Law Attorney by The Florida Bar. Since 1998, he has been a speaker for the Professional Guardianship Course that is mandated by the State of Florida. He is a member of the Special Needs Alliance which is a national network of attorneys dealing with the special needs trusts and disability issues.
His practice concentrates in the areas of elder law, medicaid, probate, probate litigation, guardianships, wills, trusts and special needs and long-term care planning. Lance received formal training in investment fiduciary responsibility, and earned the AIF® designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies through the University of Pittsburgh. Lance served as a barrister in the Inns of Court and on the Board of Directors of Age Link, an agency that provided information and referrals to the elderly. Lance is accredited by the Veteran's Administration to represent claimants. Lance is immediate Past President and Director of NAMI Lee County, Inc. and been serving in a leadership capacity since 2006, serves on the Board of Directors of the Lee County Chapter of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Florida State Guardianship Association (FSGA) Director 2010 - 2012, President 2012 - 2013. The Florida State Guardianship Association is dedicated to the protection of the dignity and rights of the incapacitated persons throughout the State of Florida.
