John Neumann has a broad corporate background, and his practice is focused principally on mergers and acquisitions. John has provided advice with respect to public and private company acquisitions and divestitures, initial public offerings, private placements of securities, compliance with public company periodic reporting obligations and securities exchange rules, and public company takeover defense. His experience includes representation of a leading U.S. distribution company in connection with its ongoing acquisition program, several leading public company manufacturers in acquisitions and dispositions of orphan divisions, a leading U.S. utility services company in energy-related project transactions, and a leading U.S. bank holding company in a $2.9 billion Dutch-Auction share repurchase.

Prior to joining Jones Day, John was a corporate associate with the law firm of Hunton & Williams in Richmond, Virginia.
