Joe was born in New Hampshire and is admitted to both the New Hampshire and Massachusetts bars. He began his legal career in private practice in Boston in the areas of personal injury, immigration and criminal defense, representing many indigent criminal defendants as a bar advocate. Since joining the firm in 2003, Joe has established a significant practice in municipal and state licensing law, including liquor, lottery and other licensing, both for national hospitality companies and individual small business. Joe's work on several state-wide transfers for our national franchise clients built on his already significant state-wide licensing work. Our clients have licenses in over 100 municipalities across the state, and have given Joe a depth of experience with municipal licensing commissions, boards of health, inspectional services, the Massachusetts Division of Unemployment Assistance, the Department of Revenue, and the Alcohol Beverage Control Commission that is hard to find in a small, family-run law firm. Joe also works in our other practice areas, including real estate and personal injury. He lives on the North Shore with his wife Nicole and sons Liam and Jack.
