Raymond L. Jackson grew up in the Auburn/Opelika area. He attended Lee County public schools. He graduated summa cum laude from Auburn University in 1992 with a BA (major in history/minor in business). In May of 1995, Raymond graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama School of Law, finishing third in a law class of 177 persons.

Raymond began his legal career as a law clerk for Justice J. Gorman Houston on the Supreme Court of Alabama. During his thirteen-month clerkship, Raymond learned much about appellate practice in Alabama. While clerking for Justice Houston, Raymond was admitted to practice law in the State of Georgia in the fall of 1995, and he was admitted to practice law in the State of Alabama in the spring of 1996.

In September of 1996, Raymond became an associate with the law firm of Capell & Howard, P.C.—in Montgomery, Alabama. During his two and one half years at the law firm, Raymond worked primarily in the areas of civil litigation and intellectual property. His intellectual property work included trademark and copyright registration, drafting licensing agreements, and litigation involving intellectual property. Raymond’s civil litigation work included writing motions and legal briefs, taking depositions, and participating in hearings in federal and state court. His civil litigation experience also included work on a number of appeals. Raymond also performed legal services for a number of small businesses, such as the drafting of contracts and providing legal advice related to customer disputes and employment matters.

In February of 1999, Attorney General Bill Pryor appointed Raymond an Assistant Attorney General. During his tenure, Raymond represented the State of Alabama in a number of important and high profile cases including the State’s tobacco litigation, the franchise tax case, and the sexual harassment case against the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals. During the eighteen-month period in which he worked in the Attorney General office, Raymond orally argued four cases in the Supreme Court of Alabama, one case in the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and a number of other cases in state and federal trial courts.

In February of 2000, Raymond Jackson began practicing law in Auburn, Alabama. Since then, Raymond has dedicated himself to assisting his clients, which include both individuals and businesses with a wide variety of challenges and other legal requirements.
