I am a Denver native, and I began my career as a musician.  After studying opera at the University of Colorado and Northwestern University, I decided that being a professional singer wasn't for me.  During college I had travelled to Russia and Northern Ireland to work with youth, and had gotten a glimpse of the joys of service.  I love music, but I found a music career to be an incredibly self-serving profession, and I decided that I wanted to really help people and serve causes bigger than myself.
When I started law school at the University of Denver, I knew that I wanted to practice criminal law and I knew that I wanted to fight for justice.  I was told that prosecutors had "prosecutorial discretion" and therefore were in the best position to bring about justice.  Thus, I spent my time in law school interning for the Adams County and Jefferson County District Attorneys' offices.
Unfortunately, the justice I was looking for did not exist in the DA's office.  It became abundantly clear to me that the power of the government is a machine and that individuals like you and I do not stand a chance against it without zealous advocacy.  I found myself prosecuting cases where all I really wanted to do was to fight for the accused.  I felt deep compassion for them and realized that my calling was to stand alongside them.
However, I did get a ton of wonderful experience working for the District Attorney.  I was able to successfully advocate in seven misdemeanor, domestic violence, and DUI jury trials, two court trials, and several motions hearings. Additionally, I gained insight into the inner-workings of the prosecution and the mindset of prosecutors, which allows me to serve my clients more effectively as a defense attorney.

I am a passionate trial advocate, and I spent my years in law school honing my trial skills by participating in moot court competitions and as the president of the DU Law Moot Court Board.
As your attorney, I can guarantee you that I will fiercely advocate for your rights, walk alongside you as you go through a difficult time, and work my hardest to achieve the best possible outcome in your case.
I look forward to working with you for justice!
