Charles Stone is an associate in our Milwaukee office where his practice includes general business law, with an emphasis on Asia and China. He speaks, reads and writes Mandarin, reads and writes Classical Chinese and speaks and reads Japanese. He lived and worked in China for five years. Charles’ knowledge of the Chinese language, culture and law not only serves to facilitate the resolution of legal problems, but also helps to facilitate business with China in general. He can translate a Chinese contract as well as interpret what it actually means in its cultural context.

Charles has authored an academic book on Chinese literature and several peer-reviewed articles. He has given lectures on Chinese law and business and has taught a continuing legal education course on Chinese Intellectual Property Law.
