Before Curtis Leonard became a criminal defense attorney in Orlando, he began as a local kid who was born and raised in the Central Florida area in Lady Lake, Fruitland Park, and Leesburg. As such, Mr. Leonard knows full well what it means to come from small beginnings. Mr. Leonard is proud of the place that made him who he is.

Curtis P. Leonard graduated from Leesburg High School as a Florida Merit Scholar and graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts. Mr. Leonard obtained his law degree from the Florida Coastal School of Law. After law school, Mr. Leonard interned for a large civil litigation firm in Chicago, Illinois where he learned a great deal but ultimately decided to come home. After returning home, Mr. Leonard began at the Lake County Public Defender's Office where he gained the respect of many around the legal community by his willingness to be aggressive yet conscious for the best outcome for his client's in the area of criminal defense. During Mr. Leonard's tenure at the Public Defender's Office, he created Lake County's Early Intervention and Resolution Program on behalf of Lake County and the Public Defender's Office. As a result of this experience, Mr. Leonard has much more courtroom experience than most of his competitors who may advertise themselves to be "trial attorneys". During that same period, Mr. Leonard created The Law Office of Curtis P. Leonard, P.A., which is now flourishing in its own right primarily focusing on Tort Law, Personal Injury, Products Liability, Medical Malpractice, Insurance Disputes, Criminal Law, Civil and Traffic Violations.
