John Bell Whitesell was born and raised in Kentucky, and received his law degree from the University of Kentucky in 1988, He served as an editor for the Journal of Mineral Law and Policy. He graduated Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University in 1984, where he played football and was named to the Academic All-SEC Football Team during his senior year.
After practicing civil litigation in a large law firm for six years, John opened his law practice and represented his first Social Security disability claimant in 1994. He has focused his practice primarily on representing the disabled before the Social Security Administration since 1999.
John represents claimants in administrative hearings in Kentucky and Tennessee, and before the Federal Courts in both states. He is a member of the Kentucky and Tennessee Bar Associations, and The National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives (NOSSCR). John keeps up with the latest developments in Social Security disability law by attending and lecturing at numerous conferences about Social Security law.
He is an active member of his church. He works with the Boy Scouts and had achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the American Lung Association of Kentucky.
