John Lynch practices in the Business Law, Compensation and Benefits, and Trusts and Estates areas and has been practicing corporate law in Boston since 1975. John represents business organizations in a variety of high tech and traditional industries and generally serves as outside general counsel to these organizations. His practice focuses on general business representation, mergers and acquisitions, business transactions, contracts, financing, licensing, and generally fulfilling the day-to-day legal requirements for businesses. John has represented U.S. clients in international transactions, especially in Europe and China. Throughout his years of practice, John has represented many privately held or family owned businesses, handling all aspects of the representation of privately held concerns including exit strategies, succession planning, estate planning, and tax issues.
John also practices in the Trusts and Estates Group where he serves as a trustee of numerous trusts. He has extensive experience in the planning, drafting, and management of trusts including related investment decisions. In his over thirty years of experience as a trustee of many client trusts and advisor to other trustees, John has often served as a family attorney and liaison between the individual trusts and various family members. As a result of this work, he has developed an expertise in trust law, income taxation of fiduciaries, investments, relations with investment managers, the preparation and filing of fiduciary income tax returns, and other legal matters related to the formation, management and termination of trusts.
